NFL reporter Erin Andrews has made a worrying health announcement, revealing she’s received a scary diagnosis in recent times.
The FOX Sports talent disclosed that she’s dealing with a “pre-skin cancer situation,” which was discovered after she developed a skin problem on her upper lip.
Andrews had previously addressed the problem on her ‘Calm Down’ podcast with friend and coworker Charissa Thompson, saying the area was “so crusty and it really hurts.”
Thompson suggested that the issue was more serious than folks would expect before Erin revealed what was really going on to the New York Post.
“For those of you that are new, Erin’s working through some… an issue on her upper lip, but it’s not what you think it is,” Thompson said.
Andrews told the Post she went for a skin check, which she was very nervous about.
“It’s a pre-skin cancer situation. I did a cream for five days on it,” she explained.
“I went for the old — ‘Oh it’s a great idea until you get in the car’ skin check — the whole shebang… I wanted to pass out in the middle of it because I’m so afraid they’re going to find something.”
The reporter promised to go into further detail on Thursday’s podcast episode.

Andrews had every reason to be afraid, as she’s fought cancer before. She dealt with cervical cancer in 2016 and was declared cancer-free after undergoing two operations.
Meanwhile, Andrews paid tribute to FOX colleague Jimmy Johnson on Monday. The former college and NFL coach announced his retirement after 30 years with the network, declaring he’s done.
“My favorite part about working with @jimmyjohnson4616 will always be my checkins with @nflonfox during breaks,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Coach is always the first one to say how much he liked my outfit, asked me abt the crowd, or about the weather at the stadium. His speeches were legendary at our dinners. And his humor, laugh, and smile were the best part about being around him! Cheers to you Coach! Love you so much! Proud to be your forever teammate.”
The veteran reporter, who covered the Super Bowl last month, revealed her contract with FOX was up after last season.
