Travis Kelce junto a Patrick Mahomes.

It’s been two months since the Kansas City Chiefs lost the Super Bowl to the Eagles, which would have made them the only team in NFL history to win three consecutive titles. Patrick Mahomes still can’t get that night out of his mind and has several things to think about this new season. The quarterback wants to continue adding to his list of achievements, and to do so, he’s clear on the next steps.

He already lost the 2021 final in crushing fashion against Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was able to bounce back. Now it’s his turn to do the same. The first thing he’s done this time is what’s in his power: to give up a well-deserved vacation and begin intense training with his personal trainer, Bobby Stroupe, to return better than ever.

He’s destroyed his “Dad Body,” and his physical transformation has left many speechless. He wants to be more agile and quicker when making decisions on the field. His work this offseason will also reduce his risk of injury. He was respected last year. He hopes next year will be the same in this regard.

The Chiefs were the best but didn’t convince.

Another issue he has to address is improving the Chiefs’ play. Despite going 15-2 in the regular season last season, they were heavily criticized for the way they achieved some of those victories. They didn’t convince, but Mahomes is determined to dispel all doubts and show they want their throne back.

His personal numbers weren’t as good as in other years, and he acknowledged after losing the Super Bowl that he felt like he’d disappointed everyone. The same goes for Travis Kelce. And as veterans and heavyweights in the locker room, they’ll team up again to finish what they started.

Kelce may be facing his final year in the NFL, and his good friend Mahomes wants him to keep it that way without another championship. He’ll be another reason to shout to everyone that Kansas City still has a lot of boxes to check off. Because Mahomes keeps his winning gene intact.
