The accident occurred at approximately 9:40 PM on Interstate 45 when Biles’ SUV was reportedly struck by a pickup truck that lost control in rainy conditions. Eyewitnesses stated that Biles’ vehicle was hit on the driver’s side, causing it to spin and collide with a barrier. Emergency services responded swiftly and extricated her from the vehicle before transporting her to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
A spokesperson from the hospital confirmed early Tuesday morning that Biles is awake and responsive, and undergoing a series of tests to assess the extent of her injuries. “She’s in good hands and receiving the best possible care,” the statement read. “Her condition is stable, and she is surrounded by loved ones.”
The driver of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
