MIchael Jackson who is the subject of the documentary Leaving Neverland.

Two camps have formed among those who have seen the documentary Leaving Neverland about Michael Jackson. Some are as horrified as they are convinced that the pedophile allegations are true, while others are suspicious of the men who are now coming forward as victims. But there are some compromising facts for Michael Jackson – here are some of them!

In the HBO documentary Leaving Neverland , which is currently showing on SVT play, two now-adult men describe years of sexual abuse and rape. And the perpetrator, they say, is Michael Jackson, the King of Pop.

Wade Robson and James (Jimmy) Safechuck were both seven years old when the abuse began. In Safechuck’s case, it began in Paris during the Bad tour when Michael Jackson allegedly introduced him to masturbation, and after that the abuse escalated rapidly.

– Michael wanted me to bend over and spread my buttocks. That was his thing. Then he masturbated, Jimmy Safechuck says of the first time.

In Wade Robson’s case, the abuse began at Michael Jackson’s home, in Neverland.

– He was one of the kindest, most caring, loving people I’ve ever met. He’s helped me tremendously in my career, with my creativity – all that kind of thing. And he also sexually abused me for seven years, Wade Robson says about Michael Jackson at the beginning of the documentary.

Advises divided opinions

For several years, the two boys were allegedly abused and raped at Michael Jackson’s Neverland estate. At least according to the testimonies in the documentary. However, the Jackson family claims that the two men are lying for financial gain, and they have also sued HBO for $100 million.

Hardcore fans around the world are also furious at the allegations made in the documentary. At the same time, some stores have stopped playing Michael Jackson’s songs and several radio stations have banned his music.

In short, you could say that Leaving Neverland has divided the world into two parts: those who believe in Jimmy and Wade, and those who believe in Michael.

7 compromising facts about Michael Jackson

Journalist Maureen Orth began reporting on the allegations against Michael Jackson for Vanity Fair in the early 1990s. She argues that there is more to the story than is presented in the documentary Leaving Neverland , facts that were partly made known during the first wave of allegations, in 1993 and 2003. Here are some of the points she makes.

1. Bought himself free

Michael Jackson paid $25 million in a settlement following Jordan Chandler’s sexual assault allegations in the early 1990s. $18 million went to Jordan, $1.5 million to his parents, and the rest went to legal fees. According to Michael Jackson, the money was paid to avoid something “long and drawn out.” He continued to deny any wrongdoing.

2. Shared bed with boys

When Michael Jackson was 34 years old, he shared a bed with then 13-year-old Jordan Chandler – for a month. Jackson also slept in Jordan’s bed when he visited him at his father’s.

In the documentary Living with Michael Jackson (2002), the artist is asked if he doesn’t think it’s strange for a grown man to sleep with children from other families. Michael Jackson then replies that he doesn’t see anything wrong with it.

3. Skin changes on the penis

Jordan Chandler drew special marks depicting skin changes on Michael Jackson’s penis which were then compared, and matched, with real photos taken by investigators. The skin changes were due to Michael Jackson’s disease, vitiligo.

4. The alarms around the bedroom

The hallway outside Michael Jackson’s bedroom was a security zone. Bells rang as soon as anyone approached the bedroom.

5. Fingerprints on porn magazines

During a search of Michael Jackson’s house, a suitcase full of porn was found under his bed. Inside the porn magazines were found Jackson’s fingerprints – and those of the boys.

6. The suicide of fathers

Two of the four victimized boys’ fathers, Jordan Chandler and Wade Robson, have committed suicide.

7. Expensive gifts

Michael Jackson bought very expensive gifts for the boys’ mothers. Jimmy Safechuck’s mother got a house, Jordan Chandler’s mother got a diamond bracelet, and he helped Wade Robson’s mother get permanent residency.
